Dire Avengers And Wave Serpent

Well i went into town today on the hunt for a wave serpent and i came across something much more enticing.

A wave serpent with dire avengers! yay!

So anyway i got home and decided, i'll make a blog of my progress! Hell, why not? I already have a box of 10 dire avengers from a box set so with the addition of another 5.

It means breaking them into two squads

But having a slight OCD streak to me i just can't have a sqaud of 8 and another of 7! so i made one out of green stuff guardian bits and now i have sixteen over all. good start :)

Okay so my dire avengers are assembled and undercoated white.

I'll do step by step painting until they're finished. i have a tight deadline to reach so they might only be tabletop quality but whatever. Now im really tired and im going to bed. Night world!

Right, i'v based the dire avenger's blue armour and inkwashed it. here's some pics.



Next ill do the base of the bone and the yellow and continue the details and highlights after that unto completion.

Eldar Pilot

This morning i was pretty bored so i went down to the garage where i do my painting and surveyed the usual aftermath. bits of dog-chewed warwalker on the shelf and God knows what growing from the side of my 'Lightning Blue' paint pot.

I decided to raid the bitz box and had a cool idea after seeing a the failed hull of a falcon. I'll make a pilot for a skimmer.

after scavenging from some old guardians and the dire avenger sprue, i created this.

Then in the afternoon i gave it a spray paint of white undercoat as a primer for my colour scheme.

i let it dry for a hour or so and decided to go to town. I bought the new white dwarf and more green stuff, as well as ordering a new war walker box set. hooray!

When i got back i set to work on the painting. i wanted it to go with the pilots in my falcon and fireprism so heres the finished thing. I added some destroyed war walker to the base. I think i'll use whats left of them and this model as objective markers.
